Privacy Policy
EventRoom is provided by Thanh Hung Nguyen (“we”, “us”, or “the Provider”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices when you use the EventRoom mobile application and related services (the “Service”).
1. Who is responsible
Thanh Hung Nguyen is the data controller for personal information processed in connection with EventRoom. For privacy questions or requests, email support@eventroom.io.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use EventRoom, we may collect:
- Account information — such as username, profile picture, and identifiers from Apple Sign In, Google Sign In, or email sign-in
- Device information — such as a device identifier, install ID, device model, OS version, preferred language, and region needed to register your device and operate the Service
- Session and broadcast data — such as session titles, stream duration, viewer counts, chat messages you send or receive during a session, gift/diamond-related metrics, and end-of-session summaries
- Push tokens — APNs or FCM tokens if you allow notifications
- Support communications — messages you send us by email
Camera and microphone: When you go live, EventRoom uses your device camera and microphone to capture and transmit your broadcast. Live audiovisual content is processed to deliver your stream. We do not use camera or microphone access when you are not broadcasting, except as needed to show a local preview before you go live.
3. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you
- Operate live event sessions, chat, viewer stats, and related features
- Send push notifications you have enabled
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues
- Respond to support requests
- Improve and develop EventRoom
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Legal bases (where applicable)
If laws such as the GDPR apply, we process personal data based on: performance of a contract (providing the Service), legitimate interests (security, improvement, abuse prevention), consent (for example, optional notifications or certain device permissions), and legal obligations where required.
5. Third-party services
We use third parties to help run EventRoom. They process data only as needed for their role:
- Apple — Sign in with Apple; App Store distribution; Apple Push Notification service (APNs)
- Google — Google Sign-In; Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for push notifications where used
- Hosting / backend providers — to store account, session, and chat data and deliver streams and WebSocket updates
These providers have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.
6. Sharing
We may share information:
- With service providers who help us operate EventRoom under appropriate safeguards
- With other users as part of the Service (for example, your username, profile image, chat messages, and public broadcast content during a live session)
- If required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security
- In connection with a transfer of the Service (for example, if the app is sold), with notice where required
7. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, including to provide the Service, resolve disputes, enforce our Terms, and meet legal requirements. Retention periods may vary by data type (for example, account data vs. short-lived stream metrics).
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including authenticated API access and transport encryption where appropriate. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. Children
EventRoom is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact support@eventroom.io and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can also:
- Update profile information in the app where available
- Revoke camera, microphone, or notification permissions in device settings
- Sign out of your account
- Request account deletion by emailing support@eventroom.io
We will respond to verified requests within a reasonable time and as required by law.
11. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we take steps to protect transferred data in accordance with applicable law.
12. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of EventRoom after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
